What should be important here is that you will know what you are going to do next time. Have a plan for when it happens again. Maybe you should at least talk with your neighbors so you know where they stand. If you hunt that close to them the odds are in favor that you may have to deal with this situation again. If they tell you that there is no way you are coming on their land to get a deer you shot then you will at least know that you should head straight for the game wardens. It is a shame what happened. I am sure if give it to do over you would have done it differently.

If I were you,before it happens again I would go to the property owner next door and introduce my slef and have a neighborly talk.ask him if you can trail a wounder deer?let him know that you are not part of the fude,or just talk with him.go with hat in hand and see what happens.if he says no then you will know what chiose you have.he may be understanding.

the property next to where I hunt was sold this past summer.I talked and searched until I learned who it now belongs to.a guy that most around this area says is a " REAL A HOLE" .I went to him and we had a talk about animals crossing the line. He was just as nice as any person can be. he said if something like that happens to me,by all means go after the animal.he also said there would be no need to try and call him , just go after it.

If things don' t work out you always have the dnr. They will ****** you if necessary.
