well guys, for those of you who didnt see my original thread.... http://forum.hunting.net/asppg/tm.as...mode=1&smode=1 I was in a rut. Went out tonite, after shooting my bow all day and some during the week. Killed a big doe, about 8 yards away, it ran less than 50 yards. I just want to thank everyone for helping me out of my craphole lol. I took some pics with the digi cam but im having some problems with them. Pics to come soon. Thank you guys so much, my gratitude can only be expressed in the picture that will follow. by the way, i saw a bunch of deer tonite, not planning to shoot really, like yall said to do. I drew back on 2 before deciding that the third, and largest, deer that i drew on was PERFECT. I had time to calm myself down, bend at the waiste, and aim for the exit hole. My arrow hit just a hair low, but it still did some monster damage. The inyards were hardly identafiable. I just cant thank you guys enough, this week has been the best and worste of my hunting carreer and i think ive learned more in this time than i have in the past 4 or so years that ive been hunting. Thanks folks, ill get the pic up as soon as i can.

Was ther anything " off" with your bow, or do you think it was just nerves and/or technique?
Good job though, way to come back.

well, i had my bow set up with the red pin for my 10 and 20 yard shots, so i was shooting an inch or 2 high at 10 and an inch or 2 low at 20 and just figured i would compensate in the feild, bad idea. And the red pin is the hardest to see, so i now have a green 10yd pin, yellow 20 and red thirty. This was a big help with being able to pick a spot on the deer and pin it there. I am thinking not only was a shooting high under 15 yards, but my steel force broadheads were shooting high, and my nerves were kickin the crap outa me.
I went into the woods tonite with a pounding heart, it was almost like the feeling u get when u see a deer, only not as exciting. My heart just pounded away as i sat in the tree thinking thru every shot opurtunity i might have and i thought through where to aim at how big of deer at what distance and direction. I just sat and thought about shooting the entire time, i think that is what helped me the most. I could have shot that doe at 30 yards when it first came in, perfect broadside, then it came in to 20 yd, quartering away from me. boy was i shaking... it came right under my stand and sniffed where i had set my gear. I got myself calm and let it get out to 8 or so yards and redrew, just for practice and i just thought, " this is it" and *flunk* or however u type that noise, hit about 5 inches to the right of its spine, down thru the vitals, and out behind and under the opposite shoulder. best part about is, i got my arrow and broadhead back. heh, im broke still from buying the breadheads and stuff. Ive said thanks like 3000 times so far on here, but heres 3001, thanks guys.

OH! i forgot to mention that i did not use any type of scent killer or anything. All my hunting stuff had been sitting in my room for a while and i just threw everything in the truck not even in a bag. I also didnt hunt as high as i usually do(because of the scent) hmmm....lucky i guess?
