Great Story!...... nice buck too - but if the buck was a 4 point - the story would have been just as compelling - ITS WHY WE HUNT - you got it.

I am already looking forward to topping it next year. I am going to continue to hunt this year as the season runs through December 31st. However, I can only take does with my additional tags. By the sounds of it, I guess I better talk to the taxidermist tomorrow. You are right, it is only money. I will have months before I have to explain it to my wife.

Well, it has been a week since I tagged this beauty. Lots of people have been asking me what it scores. I have no idea. I have never bothered to have any of the bucks I have shot scored. So my question is does anyone know how to score a rack yourself? Is there directions somewhere that someone can point out? Maybe some of you have an idea of what this would score. I know there is a lot of different measurements involved but that is as much as I know.

Thats was a really nice deer and a great story.I' ve never shot one that big but hope to.Like you I rifle hunted for years.Than because of no jobs here in Minnesota i moved to florida.5 years ago I moved back to Minnesota.I started bow hunting because I thought I would have a longer season and more of a chance to harvest a deer.I found out how amazing it is having these animals in such close proximity. Now I am a confirmed bow hunter!

Beautiful buck and an awesome story. I could feel my heart rate go up as he was approaching. Definatley a wall mount. Run a search for Pope and Young, they should have sheets and directions on how to score your deer.
