Success on a doe on last nights opener
#1
Here is a picture of a real nice doe I was able to get last night on NY opening day. I am 6' 2" at 235 pounds so you can kind of compare the size of the doe. Not very nice outside yesterday with wind gusts around 50 mph. It nice that NY has allowed bowhunters to use their doe permits thoughout the entire bow season. A few years back I wouldn' t be able to take a doe till the first Saturaday in November

I was in the mightiest tree in the forest!!! My stand in this tree is around 14 feet and is in the bottom of large revine that has very large gradual inclines on both sides.

.
Actually, it wasn' t as bad as I thought it would be. Seems like the weather forcasters around here love to scare people for some reason.
I' ll be back out there tomorrow and Saturday. Looks like a great forcast for hunting (for this time of year anyway). Down to 34 degrees, clouds and light wind.

That looks like a dandy doe. Way to go. I ignored the forcast and went out to blow around in the wind last night too. I didn' t have much luck. Look like you did though.

It was kind of weird how she came in. All alone. After I shoot her about 30 minutes later, 5 more deer came threw. I didn' t want to sppok those deer, but unfortunately they stayed around my stand till dark, and I had to inorder to get to my deer and field dress her. She only went about 40 yards, but I couldn' t see (or hear, because of the wind) her go down from my stand. She was quartered away at 25 yards when I shot. I took both lungs with a passthrough. I was using my two bladed Stos 185 grain heads (145 head, 38 grain adapter).
