Congrats on your first deer!!! I can still remember to this day how wonderful it felt to harvest my first(many moons ago) and I was lucky enough to have my dad right beside me when I did it. Honestly I still get a different feeling when I am in the woods with my dad and mom and its even better if one of us was to harvest an animal, almost the same as the first. I will be there when my sons take their first animals if they decide to take up hunting. I will not push them to do anything they do not want as my parents never did that to me. I do not worry about them though since they are both worrying me to death about taking them out this year. My oldest is 7 and my other one will be 6 in Dec (he is named Hunter by the way!!) and I took them out for a few hours a couple of times last year and I think I loved it more then they did!!

Congrats! I think your hunt was more enjoyable in that you hunted with your Dad than by bagging a deer! I have countless memories of hunting with my Dad and some of them were when neither of us got a deer, but instead just told stories of the day' s hunt and what we saw. Great opportunity you have with your Dad so hunt together every opportunity you get!!
