You should see the first bucks on the move looking for does starting Nov 5-6. With the peak of the rut starting the 11th and lasting through Nov 24th. I have though seen my biggest bucks in WV right before the peak of the rut from Nov 5th through Nov 10th.

During the rut the moon in my opinion has no real affect on deer movement. Think about it this way.... If you only got it 3 weeks out of the year would a full moon stop you?????

I saw 4 bucks sparring last week. And a buddy of mine that check' s wells saw a small buck trying to mount a doe last week. So I' m thinkging the end of this month, or first of November.....depending if the weather cools down in the next 2 weeks.

When there is an " effective" rut, I generally start seeing the smaller bucks trolling around the last week of October, then some of the bigger boys on the chase somewhere during the first couple of weeks in November.
