Your new set-up is even more reason to stay with the wider cut mechanical. A KE of 70 will preform even better than your old set-up!

i have been using expandable heads for years and last week got out my old satelite titans fixed blades and found they shoot 2inches lower than my field points of the same grain. i will stick with my mechanical spitfires for now. they hit the same as my field points. i love to hunt and not spend time changing my sites all the time.

In these forums I think I' ve seen bad reports on just about every head out there.
The most important question is which do YOU have the MOST confidence in. I wasn' t sure about my Rocky Mt. Revolutions opening on impact, but I loved the accuracy. The top pic is entry, the botton is exit. No more worrys. To me confidence in my broadhead is probably the most important.

I switched to mechanicals for the same reason. I have not shot a deer with them yet but i feel that they will perform well. I still have 6 muzzys so when I get my new bow (this spring) I will see if they shoot well and if they do then I will go with those. One thing I like about mechanicals is that you can never bump your string and cut it. I have been careless in the dark with muzzys and almost cut my string!!! If i shoot a deer with these mechs and they are like absolutely devistating then I will probably stick with them. Otherwise I would rather get six for 30 bucks instead of 3!

I' ve shot both types from my Hoyt with similar results. Both fly well with no adjustments to my bow. However when I' m hunting I like the simplicity and reliability of a fixed blade.

I have killed deer with both. Mechs fly great, are expensive and do a great job on most, if not all, situations. Fixed heads fly great, are cheaper, and do a great job on any situation that you will encounter. I shoot muzzy 3-blade 100 gr heads.

I have the Muzzy ZE rest and have tried several fixed blade broadheads and they all fly great but I still shoot my shockwaves to hunt with I have never lost a deer with them and took 6 last year alone with them every shot has been a passthrough and have never had to track one over 75yds all but one went less than 40yds.

Hey, you' re asking the wrong guy. I' ve bought 2 different brands of mechanicals and never put one in a quiver in 2 years. WHY, because my Thunderheads fly so well and like someone said.... " It ain' t broke......" . But hey, that' s me. Your other bow should have shot fixed the same but obviously wasn' t as in tune. A tuned bow and matched equipment are tough to beat. I hesitate to say it, but with your set up it probably doesn' t matter which type you use. If you' re going after something big I' d trash the mechs, but for whitetails at moderate distances you should be fine...... but I' m still shooting my Thunderheads.[:-]
