Ok i hurt myself pretty good today but i' ll live lol I was taking my arrow out of my target box but it slipped out of my hand, snapping the arrow and got stabbed right in my left index finger. I am just curious how many people have literally shed their own blood doing this? it hurt i am telling ya lol

Well I laid a finger open a few years ago with a broadhead, I slipped while putting it on! It bled for hours, I probably should have gotten stitches, but the cut was so clean that all I did was wrap it up and then splint it with a few popsickle sticks. I had to rewrap it about 4 times before it quit bleeding.
Red Hawk did you stab your finger with the broken arrow or the broadhead?

yep, sure did and got the " sign"
Like Taz, my hand slipped while putting on broadheads causing me to slice the tip of my right index finger off, a nice gash in my right middle finger, and cut the tendons in my thumb. All in all I had thirteen stitches in three fingers. That wasn' t the worse part, it was the day before opening day of bow season. I had to hunt that year with a crossbow that my wife bought me.

Haha, " Here' s your sign" that' s good stuff!!

I' ve got a good one too, was gutting out a buck a few years back, all excited from the shot and finally getting him. Was up near the breast bone trying to make one last cut into the skin.........slipped with the knife....stuck it nice and DEEP into the other hand that was holding back the fore-leg, boy I howled like an ole' coyote......8 stitches later I was all set, and learned a valuable lesson........FORGET ABOUT THE BREASTBONE!

My dad, brother and myself were just starting to butcher a deer I shot a couple years ago. After working on it for literally less than 5 minutes, I pulled the iron out of the knife block to sharpen my knife but bound up the iron in the block as I was drawing it, causing the block to tip. I reached over with my other hand really fast to catch the block before it dumped all the knives out but ended up catching a blade on a knife in the block with the tip of a finger on my left hand. Cut me nearly all the way to the bone, about 3/4" long, right on the tip. I got to spend the next couple hours in the ER getting stitches. The shot of novicaine was the worst part of it - the syringe looked like somehting you' d use on livestock and they administered it on both sides of my finger.... in the web area. It' s giving me the cold sweats just thinking about it right now.....[X(]
With my finger all wrapped up in gauze and med tape the size of a golf ball, I couldn' t really help butcher my own deer after that[:' (].
