RE: Who likes twin cams?
You want a good twin cam and you like the Darton... look at the Darton Cyclone. Your wrist strap doesn't sound so much like a form problem as it does a draw length problem.

RE: Who likes twin cams?
I love twin cam bows...
Unfortunately the pickings are mighty slim among manufacturers.. PSE doesn't really have any 2 cam bows of note..and the 2 cam bows they do have are low end bows w/6-10 year old technology. Hoyt has the C-cam bows, but other than the super smooth draw I just can't bring myself to buy any of them these days. They are hard to synch at the shorter module settings by feel(because the wall is not as solid), and are a bit more touchy to out of synch conditions. I prefer the M-cams, which are now discontinued. Merlin's are very nice. Unfortunately their bows just don't "feel" right to me. Bowtech has the BK cams, but dropped the more shootable Pro 38 and 40 versions. I really wanted to get a PRO-40 w/ BK cams this year. A BKII option II could still be on the horizon for me though. HCA has all but buried their Hatchet cam bows, and quality is iffy. Darton has dropped all their good 2-cam designs as well. Martin still makes some, but I've not been terribly fond of their more recent designs, especially after a bad incident w/ my Panther MAG. RE: Who likes twin cams?
I owned a single cam (Martin Jag Fusion) prior to my BK2. These are worlds' apart in terms of draw, shootability, etc. I initially found the BK2 very frustrating - no forgiveness whatsoever. As my form and attention to detail improved so did my shooting. At this time I prefer my 2 cam option. I have no complaints about the Martin, though. The reason I changed was to "see how the other half lived"! I certainly do not have strong feelings, one way or the other, in regards cam options.

Please don't think I'm bashing single cams because they are great for someone who doesn't know alot about tuning bows.

So you are saying that those folks who shoot singlecam bows don't know how to tune 2 cam bows? That's the biggest bunch of horse**** I've heard here yet... An insult and a "bashing" If I've ever heard one. Perhaps some of us have enough tuning knowledge and experience to get more out of singlecams than YOU can. JeffB |

RE: Who likes twin cams?
You do not know me either NJ. I am a former pro-shop manager who has worked on and sold one thousands of bows, including plenty of dual feed single-idler solocams as my shop was one of the first dealers in the country to carry them in early 1993. PLease do not assume that all those who shoot singlecambows, do not know, or do not care to know about "how to tune a bow". Shops like the one I managed were not only learning as we went along but also teaching the manufacturers like Mathews and Jennings a thing or two about the technolgy with real world feedback.
3D trophies do not determine technical knowledge, only shooting skill. Likewise w/ big animals.. those arguments are irrelevant to the statement I quoted. If anything singlecams are WORSE for people who have no technical skill, and have different parameters for them to shoot well compared to a 2 cam design. Your blanket statement was ignorant in the least, intentionally or not. JeffB |
RE: Who likes twin cams?
I do, I do. My next compound will be a twin cam. I wanna shoot finger's, so im thinking twin cam long ATA high brace. Good shooting.

RE: Who likes twin cams?
If anything I have found that single cam's like the SQ2 and Q2 take a more technically, and mentally sound shooter, to handle. I figure I would have no problem's with them, but I like dual cam's alot. Ahhh heck, Later on I will probably own a single cam or two, but I like my olympic recurve, and I find for smoothness twins are the way to go to give me the same drawing experience. By the way what the heck does IMO mean??? I see it all the time and don't know what it means. Anyway's I would have to disagree with single cams being for beginners, as they are far less forgiving with creeping among other things, although probably very good for shooting fingers with back tension at the long ATA's with their very solid wall's. That's just a few irrelivent thoughts. Good shooting all.
