Default Whacked another doe

I sat in a tree this morning and watched them come by in 2' s and 4' s. Only one little rag horn spike in the whole crowd. I let 9 go by, but then this one big doe just fed around under my tree(eating the leaves off the limbs I had sawed off going up. I had a bunch of them stuck in my API so was hidden well. When the morning was wearing on and it didn' t look like any of the big boys were coming I shot the biggest doe. She probably only weighs 100 pounds, which is good for the part of Maryland I hunt. This deer was Super Mom. I mean, I drilled her with what I called a perfect shot. It entered about 6 ribs back and came out under her off side shoulder, slicing through the elbow on it' s way. This deer took off. I saw the hit and expected her to collapse at any minute. She just kept going until I lost her behind a blowdown. I didn' t see her come out so figured that was where she was. Well she wasn' t. A blind man could have followed the blood most of the time but she went AT LEAST 225-250. There were a couple spots it was spotty but I had no trouble with it. An autopsy showed I missed the heart. I skewered the one lung dead center but it just barely knicked the other since it came out so low. I was still mostly inflated but the tip near the chest was deflated. Sometimes they just seem to have more " Get Go" but this one was ridiculous. Even with what I got I would have expected her to slow or fall somewhere.... she never did until she ran out of gas.
