I currently have a LX,and before that,a Q2.Both bows are very well made, fast, quiet, and sweet. There are rumors that Mathews is coming out with some new bows that are going to be really something in 04.I' ve also owned Bowtechs, Parkers, with really no complaints.I personally like the Mathews better for me.My hunting buddies shoot a lot of different bows, good solid bows,so theres alot to chose from.Try a shoot several different bows and go with the thats right for YOU...Bob

I do not currently have a Mathews bow, although I owned 2 last year. I have yet to shoot a bow that was as low on recoil as the Q2 XL. The draw length on that bow was too long for me, and to get it right, I would have had to replace not only the cam, but the string and cable as well. I sold it to get an MQ1. I liked that bow a lot better, but had torque issues with the grip (a lot of aftermarket grips sold for Mathews bows). The bow shot well, but I just could not get the consistency out of it that I was getting with a much older bow, even after installing a Muzzy Zero Effect rest. I eventually sold it. Both bows were impressively well made and very low in recoil, although the strings needed String Leeches to quiet them down. If I could have shot better with the MQ1, I would still have it.
That said, I now have a 2001 Bowtech Pro 38 Dual Cam. This bow, despite a lower brace height than the other bows I have had (like the MQ), is very forgiving for me to shoot, especially with broadhead tipped arrows. The recoil is still very low. This bow is very quiet as well. I shoot this bow with a Whisker Biscuit rest better and with fewer " flyer" shots than the MQ and the MZE. It just works for me. Mathews does make a very nice bow, it was just not the best bow for me. It may be the best for you, however. I would suggest that you also look into Bowtech, Hoyt, Parker, and Jennings bows. If you have a dealer nearby, Darton and Champion are also excellent bows. Good luck with your choice.

I currently shoot a Mathews Legacy and love it. Fast, quiet, and smooth. I considered a Mathews LX and a Bowtech VFT. I also tried the Hoyt' s new bows but the double cam or cam and a half is not for me. Shoot them all and you decide.

Mathews areat bows - no question about it.... I however purchased an AR 34 after shooting a few Mathews bows, a Hoyt, and then the AR 34... I have to honestly say I cannot warrant the extra money - about 100 for a Mathews... I bought the AR NOT because it was 100 less... but because I liked it a lot more - mainly due to the way the bow constantly went to the sweet spot as far as grip goes..... and it was quiet... and shot well... The guy that let me shoot the bows was pushing Mathews all the way.... but I dont care what ANYONE else shoots..... I wanted what I liked and felt good... Im so glad I got the AR 34. I can shoot consistant tight groups with broadheads to 50 yards - yes 50.
Shoot an AR 34 before you purchase anything. There are a LOT of good bows out there..... Mathews, Hoyt, AR, Bowtech,Darton,PSE, just to name a few...... shoot as many differant bows as you can......... THEN make the choice based on what YOU like, and SHOT WELL - period - NOTHING else matters......
Good luck
