A little crispness in the air this AM. I had fawns running around playing tag. Two of them came flying by me 3 times making big circles in the woods. The last time they came by the first one stopped and his tongue was hanging out. The second one came screeching to a halt at his side with his tongue hanging out too(2 buttons). They stood there for a few seconds at 10 yards and then went flying off again. About 30 minutes later a doe with 2 fawn, still sporting spots came up.... it was my buttons again. A rag horn spike was bringing up the rear. They were all just taking a stroll in the glorious morning. Those buttons were prancing and kick their heels up, to the side and doing the high leg kick all over. Nature was having fun this AM. Len had a couple small bucks and 4 does come by him, just cruising along without a care in the world. Fall is coming.

It was 38 degrees in my Tennessee red oak this morning. The deer were really moving. I saw 6 bucks and they were grab a$$ing. Had an opportunity for a great shot at a basket 6 with a huge body and should have taken him out but there was really nice 8 point in the area and I kept waiting for a shot that didn' t happen. But like David said, it was a beautifull morning and it makes the rest of the year worth while.
