Default Season Opener 2013

Well there are only 236 days left until the season opener here in MN. I almost feel rushed! I have alot of land to walk in search of this seasons sheds. Hoping to find some of the bigger deer left to target this next season. Then I will be starting work on my first attempt at a food plot. That will probably keep me plenty busy clearing brush and getting a stand sight picked out.
Then we get into the summer when all the stands go back out and I work on the field edges for the farmers. That's my way of helping them out for letting me hunt. After all that I still need to get all my target time in so I don't get too flustered when the Booner walks in.

Anyone else ready for another season to kick in?

Sounds like the life of a deer hunter! I currently have all my cameras out on feeders i put out after season. I have found that this is the best way to "take stock" of what made it throught the season. Then I'll be breaking new ground in the spring for new food plots, and doing some timber management as well. So yeah i know where your comin from. lol

I would have my camera on a feeder in the late winter but we cannot feed deer in MN anymore. The DNR is worried about CWD so last year they started a feeding ban.

I have been in Farmington 4yrs now but I hunt near Cannon Falls/ Red Wing still. I would love to find something close to my house but I don't know anyone in the area and haven't ventured out yet to talk with farmers and land owners. I have been thinking about applying to the UMORE Park hunt for next year. We'll see.

Still bowhunting Arkansas. I have a three day weekend planned next weekend. I have a big buck on my lease that still has his head gear (as of last Sunday). If nothing else, I have five tags still left that I can use for does, if I can get one in range.

GRIZZLYMAN, What part of Arkansas are you hunting in? Also have you heard that the south zone is switching to Oct 1st for the bear opener?
