RE: DO LEAVE YOUR CLIMBING STAND OVERNIGHT
I leave my cobra over night sometime. if I' m on our lease, I won' t lock it, but if I' m huntin the NRW, I' ll lock it to the tree. I leave it as high as possible on the tree, I think that helps keep the deer from seein it.

RE: DO LEAVE YOUR CLIMBING STAND OVERNIGHT
I have thought about leaving mine before but like Cougar Mag said I may change my mind by the next morning. Or a change in the wind or who knows what could happen. It isn' t that much trouble for me just to carry it in and out each time. It isn' t worth the chance of losing it.

RE: DO LEAVE YOUR CLIMBING STAND OVERNIGHT
i left my climber in the woods almost all season last year...only thing i would take every now and then was the seat. i have a buckshot and the locks for it make it almost impossible to steal. i did however cover it every night with local branches so it would cover up any smell....first day in the stand, i missed a 6 point and a doe but then i shot an 8-point so it all worked out. it was right on the edge of clearing that was loaded with acorns. turkey and deer everywhere.

RE: DO LEAVE YOUR CLIMBING STAND OVERNIGHT
I have three climbers and 14 loc on stands, they stay in the woods put much all year. I do spray my climber w/ no stink spray after each use. Only problem I every had was a mama coon sleeping in one of my climbers. I don' t know who was the most scared, me or her.

RE: DO LEAVE YOUR CLIMBING STAND OVERNIGHT
I leave my API' s overnight. They are such a pain to put up quietly.
This thread has me wondering though. If I have my lease next year a new summit is on my list. |
RE: DO LEAVE YOUR CLIMBING STAND OVERNIGHT
yea, I have been Lazy enough to do it before:(
And IMO that is the only reason to do it - out of Lazyness It is something i think should be avoided - there is LOTS of scent sitting there |
