Default dumb question?

When you guys use calls such as rattling and grunting do you typically blind call or only when you see deer? Ive called in a few bucks by grunting but never blind calling that I can remember I have never rattled in a buck ever and am eager to do so is it to early to hit the horns and how hard would you go?

Blind calling/rattling can pay off. I only call every hour or 2.
Mix in some grunts with your rattling. Start off softly just in case there's a buck nearby.

Typically I've found the last week of October to be the most productive time for rattling in bucks here in eastern Colorado. May be different depending on where you hunt but that week is a hot time here.
