Ok, finaly I get to add my 2 cents! Shot a doe night before last with a Rocky Gator, shot looks perfect, sounds perfect, and I am thinking as she takes off " your going down" . well didn' t happen just that way. She runs off about 40 yards, stops and starts walking. She appears to be hurt, but I let her get out of sight and leave until morning. Turns out she was angled more than I thought and I hit her just behind the lungs and into the liver. She traveld total of 150 yards, bedded 3 times before dying. My brother and I found her in the last bed, and just in time as it appears a bear had found her just a little while ago and started gutting her for me! The head made about an 1" wide entrance wound and a huge exit wound. This is one time I think a larger cutting diameter really helped me with a recovery. The Gator did a great job, even if I didn' t.
