Lowering bow from stand
Am I missing something? Have any of you found a good way to lower bow from the stand and keep it off the ground. I suspect I will need to get a soft side case to keep everything off the bow and to keep if from getting snagged on the thorn bushes, but just wondering if I' m the only one with this problem.

RE: Lowering bow from stand
I see you point about not snaggin it on everything on the ground, getting dirt, twigs and everything else in it...I lower mine to the ground as well off a cord, no other choice when hunting out of a climber...and not wanting to carry excess into the woods....I simply am careful....after all my Hoyt is precious.;)

RE: Lowering bow from stand
First trim the area where you are going to lower the bow. I use a cord like bowdacious does, but I put the loop through the cam, then over my stab. either way works good. Also, lower the bow with the nocks facing up. this way your arrows wont get hung up on any branches and stuff on the way down

This goes directly to something I' ve been yammering about for several years now... If you aren' t comfortable putting your bow on the ground for a few minutes, or have to worry about getting it snagged in thorn bushes, just how good a selection did you make for a HUNTING rig.

your right, you dont have to baby your rig, but its not all about hurting the bow, its about getting in your stand, and out of your stand as efficiently and quietly as possible. I dont see how struggling to get your bow up and down benefits anything.

RE: Lowering bow from stand
The solution to this problem for me was to climb the tree that I plan on hunting. Put one of those srew in holders into the tree above where I plan on hunting from. I tie my cord to the holder and that way I adjust the lenght of the cord to keep it off the ground. I have not had any problems with the cord while climbing the tree.

RE: Lowering bow from stand
I think everyone has stated they use some type of string, rope, strapper retriever etc and one had the best advice! Trim the area where you intend to raise/lower your bow. One stand I hunt is so thick that I lower mine right at the foot of the ladder. You have to have that area pretty clear anyway to climb in right[8D]
