Default String Silencers (which one)

My old Bear Puffs finally wore out so I took them off and the bow is suddenly so loud that it almost scred me..
I need to buy new string silencers..Are some better than others or are they all about the same ???
Thanks

I would say that String Leeches are about the best for silencing the string. That said, they also seem to be the most delicate and don' t seem to last very long. After replaing countless leeches, I went back to the cat whiskers and will stick with them from now on.

In this case I am following the crowd. Cat whiskers last a long time and quiet the string down. Leaches are nice, but don' last nearly as long.

my $0.02

String leeches here, no problem on my bow of a short life. I used to use bow puffs too, catwhiskers seemed to do little for me.

I also like the string leeches, never had a problem
and they do a great job of eliminating string
noise with minimal speed loss (1-2 fps).

I use the leeches personally. They are both relitivly inexpensive. You could buy both the leeches and whiskers for around $15 bucks or less. I say buy both and test them out. What is best on my bow or someone elses may not be the best for you. Good luck!!

My Beaver Balls are great. Extremely quiet, durable and double as wind indicators. I' ve had the same set on the same bow for over a year and they still look like new. IMO nothing else on the market quiets a bow string better. I' ve tried them next to Cat whiskers, string leaches, etc...etc. and I always come back to my Balls! LOL
