What rest are you using? If it's a WB, your odd vane should be up.

Yes I am using a WB and the odd is up?? Do u think the whiskers are causing it? A few don't lay straight but didn't think that would cause it??

That's about the only thing it could be. I think you mean they are wrinkled. Try using the heat from a hair dryer on them.

Sometime down the road you might consider a different rest.

Ive always put the odd vane up on my WB.. No problems with them.. If you look on the WB on the bottom there are different types of bristles than the rest of the biscuit. I dont claim to be an expert and i honestly have no idea what its like that for but id just assume my fletching not go through it ha.

How old is the bow? And does it have a slider to keep the bow strings out of the way? My old bow did not and I had to turn all the nocks so the colored vane was away from the bow to get clearance from the bow string.
Nock your arrow and then pull it straight through the rest and see if it hits the strings or even the bow itself.
It also could depend on how old your arrows are. The cheep Walmart arrows won't last longer the one season through a WB.

The black bristles on the bottom are for arrow support. Keep the cock (odd) vane up and you shouldn't have any trouble. The vanes getting "wavey" will not hurt anything and will still shoot accurately. I wouldn't use any other rest for hunting!

i would check your nocking point it may have moved and your arrow is not level and causing it to hit

Mark3 09-05-2012 09:20 AM

With a rip-cord, should the cock feather be up or down?

Woodsman88 09-05-2012 09:39 AM

I would do like phil said and check to make sure your vanes are clearing your cables. I had this problem before even after changing the rest and I had to just turn the cock feather out instead of up to clear the cables as your vanes pass them.
