Just noticed that my LX was not holding the groups as tight as it should. I took it into the shop and the serving had sliped up just a touch. I just wanted to put this out there for anyone that has a new Mathews. I would just have it reserved before the season so that I didn' t ever have to worry. Good thing I noticed now not in a week out in CO. Slaying Elk!!

I' ve owned around 25 Mathews in the past 10 years and haven' t had 1 that the serving didn' t loosen up a bit, but the newer bows are served much tighter, which eliminates the problem a bit. In fact it happened with my old PSE' s as well and I have a friend that has it happen on his Hoyts.

When it does happen, on whatever bow you may be using, you will hit a bit low, but the group size should not be effected greatly unless you are using fixed blade broadheads or it moves considerably.

An easy remedy is to use a tied-in nok point. You re-tie your nok point over the stretched portion, which in effect holds the serving in place and eliminates further movement. You can then re-adjust your sight, or rest, and go from there. It' s been years since I actually re-served one, but only after my arrow noks had chewed up the serving.....after thousands and thousands of shots.

A new serving isn' t necessarily a remedy to the problem, depending upon who served it, and how tight they served it.

I also owed several Mathews Bow' s and now hunt with my newest....which is the LX. The Zebra string on my LX was absolutely junk! It stretched all the time and I could never get my peep to aline. I finally trashed it and bought a winners choice. I love it and would recommend it to anyone.

Did your serving move, or seperate? If your serving seperates, it could be a sign of stretch. Might want to check that cam rotation Mac.

I' ve only had my LX for a couple of months and a few hundred arrows, but my peep has simply....not moved after the first 20 shots or so. You can see one of my conquest II' s I have from a year ago spring. I set up the peep in the first 10 shots, and it' s moved 1/16th of a turn since set up, after 1000' s of arrows, 8 states, and shooting in weather a targets from 15 degrees to 100 degrees. I' ve been shooting the zebra twist strings since they came out, and they simply stretch very, very, little. In fact, virtually all of the factory shooters shoot the zebra twist, not because they have to, but because they want to. Your talking a couple yards at 40 yards, and a 1/16th of a turn, not a big deal. Now, if the peep is served incorrectly, twisting while serving, which is a common mistake, your string will take some time to untwist under the serving of the peep, but that' s about it.

When the serving comes loose it' s not the string stretching, but the serving riding up the string because it is wound too loose. Very common, but by tying your nok set over the loose portion the problem is solved.
