Default Do you have an animal in a " Book" ???

I' m curious how many people have shot a Pope & Young class deer and actually went through the process of entering it into " the book" ? I know here in the Northeast we have the Northeast Big Buck Club that scores and tracks this areas largest bucks.

I have shot 2 deer that would make the Northeast Big Buck Club book but are a few inches shy of Pope & Young. I measured them myself but was offered to have them officially measured and entered but declined. My friend shot a 340" bull elk in New Mexico and we had fun measuring that bull carefully and I know he has great pride in that elk, but he didn' t " officially" have it entered in the book.

Anyone shoot a deer that would have met all the requirements but didn' t enter it? If you are in the book, what compelled you to go through the process? I would love to score on a buck with big enough head gear to make it and would measure the total inches by their method of any big buck I shoot , but I' m not sure if I would enter it if I did qualify.

I have never shot an Elk with a Rifle. My very first Elk was a 5x5 bull and it made the Pope & Young books. I did enter it just because it was my very first Elk and with a Bow at that. I am glad I did but will probably never enter another animal into the books.

No book animals for me yet....YET...and it' s not about seeing my name in print, it' s about honoring the animal. I think the names should be small print and the animals in bold print.

I' m just curious why no one would want to put one in the books? Do you not want to be accused of poaching,or hunting on a high fence area? I personally would jump on the oppurtunity to put one in the books. If I shot a buck that big I would want ppl to know.

I have 2 bucks that easily will make the " book" and 2 others that are questionable at best. I might have entered the first one except I did not have the required field photos......didn;t know about that at the time. Anyway, I am not worried about entering any animal until I shoot the new world record![&:]

I have a couple of bucks that qualified and were officially scored.I chose not to enter them at the last moment.A guy I worked with poached a buck and was trying to enter it as a P&Y and it just turned me away from the hole thing. My nephew has a B&C that he decided not to enter also.
