Default Please wear your saftey harness!!!! PICS

I fell 20ft hanging a stand on Sept. 1st 2011. I broke my right leg in 5 pieces and got compartment syndrome in it. I broke my left ankle and crushed my heel. I was in the hospital for 37 days, 2 months in a wheelchair, and had to learn to walk again. Im still not back to work and the Dr's say I'm going to hurt for the rest of my life. Guys this has changed my whole life you don't want this to happen to you. So please wear your harness everytime you go up a tree!!!!!

Thanks for the sobering reminder Hunterguy77,as you have so painfully illustrated the cost of a fall. Get well and GOD bless you and yours with a good recovery and outcome.

Great point. Hope you recover soon.
I have a friend that fell 15 feet back in January.
he was lucky, he suffered some injuries but is doing better now.
he had a harness just didnt put it on. NOW it goes on as soon as he gets out pf the truck. Also new camp rule. NO HARNESSES NO STAND.

Well, I bought me a harness over the weekend. I fell one time. I was really lucky. I like the way this one fits me. I also like the way it looks.

You have my prayers my friend....last summer I sustained a Traumatic Brain Injury while in Tennessee. My neurologist says that I can't even begin to think about climbing a tree without using a lineman's rope....anyone who does not wear a safety harness while in the stand is just asking for trouble....it baffles me!

my dads friend fell out of a stand hunting. he got a tree stump through the skull. if his hunting partner wasn't a doctor he would have been dead. doctors said he we would never walk again but now can with a walker.
