points for stump shooting
#1
I know its getting close to season, and its really not a big deal now, but I would really like to get out with the bow and shoot stumps for extra ranging practice for next 3D season. What kind of points should I use for this? I have heard blundgeon tips work well, but will they harm carbons?

You can use blunts, or judos. I like the judos a little bit better because they impact into the tree more than blunts. Blunts will come flying backwards pretty fast, and can bend arrows more, in my opinion. But that' s with aluminum, carbons should not have any problem. Another reason I like judos, they tend to grab the grass and stuff if you miss, causing them to stop faster without bouncing down the mountain.

Nobody I know goes stump shooting with their very best arrows because it is a good way to tear ' em up. Pull out some of your old mix-n-match leftover arrows and screw a few Judo points on. Muzzy makes Grasshoppers, little aluminum discs with wire grass catcher fingers that fit behind field points. Same concept as the Judo points. Save the bludgeons for headshots on gophers.
