Help me with my bowhunting setup.

Plugging in the numbers of my speed (238 fps), and arrow mass (365 grains) , I get 47 ft lbs of KE. That seems incredibly low to me. I wasnt planning on using mechanicals, but I was planning on using Muzzy 100 grain 4 blade broadheads. However, now I may end up using some cut on contact 2 blades. Im only hunting whitetails in W V, so what are you opinions on this?

Josh.
If you are going to be hunting whitetails only then the Muzzy will be fine.
But if you wanted to go for a 2 blade have a good look at the Magnus range.

I agree. You should be fine for whitetail, or any other deer smaller than Elk.

What poundage are you pulling?? 238 fps sounds incredibly slow for those light arrows. I' m shooting 70 lbs, 230 fps, with 565 grain arrows, and an old York 2 wheel bow.

Is that 365 without the heads? Or with the heads?
I agree with danny, something doesn' t sound right. Either way, I' d look at the muzzy' s or magnus heads. Can' t go wrong with either.

I' ve heard the minimum KE for whitetail is 50-55lbs. Since you are pretty close, I would be confident witht he Muzzy' s. However, like others, something doesn' t sound right. If you are pulling 60-70 pounds with that set up, you should have more than 47lbs of KE. I would do the calculations again.

Josh: I' m with the others that it sounds like your KE calcutator was a little off. But even if it was right that should be enough to drive a Muzzy through a WV deer.

Im shooting 57 lbs. What I previously thought was 28" draw (I just used my arrow length and was basically too lazy to actually measure it) turns out to be exactly 30" . I guess its possible that the chronograph is off, but im not sure.

365 Grains is the finished arrow weight including 100 grain tip.
Low blow Rack! If you got one for free, you' d shoot it too ;).. Of course, this is the last year with this bow, until I get me a ma ma ma ma mat (achew!)...Bowtech. :)

If it will help, I will post a picture of my pin gap. 10, 20, 30, 40 yards.

Well, just from looking at your pin gap, I' d say you' re well above 238 fps. Looks closer to 250-270 fps. And that will raise your KE alot. Something isn' t right with your chronograph, or how it' s set up. See if you can shoot thru one at a local archery shop, indoors.
