Default Planted some apple tree's

I planted two apple tree's about 6 weeks ago at the ranch. They look good so far and have put up sheep fence around them so deer can't eat them up. Has anyone hunted around apple tree's or have you had any luck with apples and deer???????

My experience has been once they learn the trees are there they will come to them on a regular basis.

Good that you put up the fence. I planted a group of 5 honeycrisp and they were doing really well. One day I came out and the deer had eaten almost all the leaves and buds off the new branches. I protected them for a few years until they grew up enought to not interest the deer. Now the deer are always around in the fall eating the apples. I don't shoot yard deer though...no challenge.

You have to protect the trees at all cost or the deer will eat them bare before they can grow. We have several on our property and the deer love them.
