I have scheduled 11/3 to 11/7 OFF work. I love that rut action! Over the years I have found the first week of November to be very productive up here in the " Big Woods"

Ugh - I just started a new job in johnstown and all of my saved vacation days and personal days are gone. I' m just now starting to accumulate some time. I' ll have every saturday and probably 1-2 evenings per week but I won' t reach my stand until 4:30-5ish.

Wimp I am so glad you mentioned vacation in this thread, I just sent my boss an email to get the 18th-24th of October off, I am going to go to the Marinsville race on the 19th with Swampdog and Capt Brad and Swampdog has been kind enough to set us up with some deer hunting after that.

I drew an archery tag for Kansas this year finally and plan on hunting there for 10 -12 days unless I get lucky early in the hunt. I work on an offshore drilling rig in the Gulf of Mexico and I work 14 days and then I' m off for 14 days. Got to love it, I get a two week vacation every month. Normally, my days off are in perfect timing with the January rut here in Alabama.

Ryan, sounds like your in for another good season. We' ll have to get together some time this season. I have some nice evening stands and nobody to hunt with. My brother inlaw and I hunt as much as we can in the morning, but he can' t hunt in the evening. You' re welcome to come with us in the morning, we' re always looking for a 3rd person to hunt with.

I have worked 7 days a week almost all summer .Since the end of April.......the only time I take a break is to stop by here.....shoot my bow at 6:30 am just when it' s breaking light......I eat.......sleep.....and back at work.

I' m taking next week off to go to Canada bear/mule deer hunting:D......then it' s back at it. I' ll probably take a week off in January to hunt the rut down in Alabama!!

I do not really get any vacation time during that part of the year since I have summers off. :)

But, I do usually end up taking a personal day or two along with a sick day before the end of October. Most of those days though fall before the orange army enters the woods. :D

Have a few half days scattered in the first three weeks of Oct. Also, taking off Oct. 24th through the 29th. Will be in Siloam Spring State Park in West Central IL. Then will be taking off a couple of days for some rut action in Nov. This is the first year that I' ve been able to save some time for bowhunting...seems like something has always come up. It can' t get here soon enough though!

Our season up here runs from Oct. 1-Nov 14 then Dec. 1-Jan 1 so I like to save a little for each season. I usually take a week from Nov 7-14 then I can take a couple of days to try the rifle out. In December I use up my days here and there (usually around Christmas and New Years to get a couple of days off in a row) I like my winter bow hunting but we really haven' t had the cold or snow in the past few years to get things moving. Hope to tag a good one and a couple does this year. Good luck to you all!!!

Here in West Virginia the bow season runs from Oct. 18 to Dec. 31.
I plan to use a few vacation days by taking off November 14-22 this week always seems to be a good one for me, its the week before gun season.

I have scheduled my leave for 0ct 24th thru Nov 17th--that should get me some action! ;)

With my schedule, I' m usually off during the week, so I get 3 evenings and 2 mornings every week without using any leave. I get out a lot.
