Check Out This Picture Of A True Albino Buck!!
Below is a picture of a 5 point Albino buck that a friend of my harvested last season. This buck was harvested in West Virgina in one of the (4) bow hunting only counties. This is a true albino deer, pink hoofs, pink eyes and pink ears. The real kicker is when my friend gutted this deer the blood was purple. He was scared to eat the meat due to the blood but did have a full body mount done on the buck. Thought you guy' s would like to see it.

RE: Check Out This Picture Of A True Piebald Buck!!
That is really an albino, not a piebald. A piebald has charistics of both " normal" as in brown and " albino" as in white. A piebald can have brown eyes and normal hoofs yet still have a white coat. that is a true albino that your friend harvested.

RE: Check Out This Picture Of A True Albino Buck!!
Yup, that would be a true albino and a great trophy. Too many people accuse a white deer to be albino when it' s simply white but yes, your friend has an albino...congrats to him...
|
RE: Check Out This Picture Of A True Albino Buck!!
Excellent trophy... actually protected in some states

RE: Check Out This Picture Of A True Albino Buck!!
There you got it now, hankfan how did you change the wording in your post like that. I don' t know how. Could you explain?
|
RE: Check Out This Picture Of A True Albino Buck!!
I don' t know what I was thinking when I titled this post. For some reason I was thinking piebald. Oh well I corrected it!!! LOL
|
RE: Check Out This Picture Of A True Albino Buck!!
For some reason I thought it ws Illegal to shoot an albino????????? I wouldn' t do it! But hey to each, his own!
|
RE: Check Out This Picture Of A True Albino Buck!!
Nice looking deer, congrats to your friend. Those are illegal here in Oklahoma.

RE: Check Out This Picture Of A True Albino Buck!!
Not for sure what I would do if something like that walked up to my stand. I' m pretty sure it' s illegal to shoot in IL. Heck, I would probably assume it was a farmers goat and not think twice about it. Congrats to your friend!
|
RE: Check Out This Picture Of A True Albino Buck!!
Hankfan...that' s an awesome trophy he' s got there! Thanks for sharing that. I' d love to see a pic of the mount as well if you can get one. I' ve never seen a true albino, but piebalds are fairly common where I hunt.

RE: Check Out This Picture Of A True Albino Buck!!
I would give my left one for an albino, buck or doe! They are legal in Va. and should be legal every where, albino' s are geneticaly inferior. Tell your friend congrats!

RE: Check Out This Picture Of A True Albino Buck!!
Wow, is that neat or what. It is illegal here to shoot a " white" deer.
Give him my congratulations! Where did he hit it? I would think the entry and exit wounds would be easy to spot but I don' t see any. Thanks for sharing. |
RE: Check Out This Picture Of A True Albino Buck!!
For some reason I thought it ws Illegal to shoot an albino????????? I wouldn' t do it! But hey to each, his own! It falls down the mystic of the animal itself....it' s your choice where legal, shoot or don' t shoot. But protect them, why? |
RE: Check Out This Picture Of A True Albino Buck!!
Great pictures...and in all honesty that is the only time I have actually seen an albino...in pictures that is. Piebalds are relatively common in my area in comparison to a true albino. I usually see at least one piebald deer every season...buck or do.

I' m not sure why someone wouldn' t harvest an albino deer, assuming it' s legal in your state. Until reading this, i had no idea that it was illegal to take one anywhere. |
RE: Check Out This Picture Of A True Albino Buck!!
Ok - for some reason all I see is a box with a red " x" in it. What am I doing wrong that I can' t see the albino?

RE: Check Out This Picture Of A True Albino Buck!!
Here' s a pic of a " White" buck one of my best friends took a few years ago........sweet looking deer. Not a " True" albino, just a snow white deer w/ brown eyes and hooves.
Ok AOL must be screwing around with the FTP space web hosting because my signature isn' t working either.....I guess you' ll have to enjoy the little red ' X" for a while[:' (] I find it silly that some states actually protect what amounts to a genetically inferior animal. I said it before.........just tree-hugger knee jerk management that says " Ooooooh their too pretty we can' t shoot them" . |
RE: Check Out This Picture Of A True Albino Buck!!
wheres the picture?
|
RE: Check Out This Picture Of A True Albino Buck!!
I haven' t been able to see the picture yet but to answer a question it is definetly illegal to shoot an albino in Illinois. I' ve seen several albino' s both buck and doe in southern Ill. They sure stick out don' t they.:)
|
RE: Check Out This Picture Of A True Albino Buck!!
Thanks for all the replies. I added a smaller picture from another site so hopefully everyone should now at least be able to see one of the pictures. There are actually 2 albino bucks in this bow hunting only area we hunt. The 5 point above and a spike. The spike has not been harvested that we know of. The shot was kind of high so you can' t see it in the picture from that angle. He did get a full body mount of the albino but has yet to get it back. I will be sure to post some pictures as soon as he gets it back.
Can everyone see the picture now? |
RE: Check Out This Picture Of A True Albino Buck!!
Nice pic, thanks for sharing
|
RE: Check Out This Picture Of A True Albino Buck!!
I have never saw an albino or piebald in the wild here in Ohio. I know there is alot of them though. Any one ever read last years magazine " wierd whitetails" ? It has a article about albino triplets from ohio and some other cool stuff.
|
RE: Check Out This Picture Of A True Albino Buck!!
That is a neat picture. If there is any albino deer around here, i have yet to see any.[:o]
|
RE: Check Out This Picture Of A True Albino Buck!!
Nice!

RE: Check Out This Picture Of A True Albino Buck!!
i think i heard the indians believe it' s bad luck for the hunter who shoots a white deer , i don' t know it' s just something i heard!

RE: Check Out This Picture Of A True Albino Buck!!
BHF, as you see your reply has been deleted. It' s replies like that which are unacceptable directed towards anyone. I wasn' t calling you an anti...read it again. I said I don' t understand why these animals are protected and why anyone would want to see them protected.......perhaps I wasn' t clear of sorts!
|
RE: Check Out This Picture Of A True Albino Buck!!
BHF,
Ok I guess it' s my turn to delete one......... First thing you need to do is TURN DOWN THE DEFENSIVE DIAL. Here is Rob' s quote and how I see it....... I' m curious to why someone wouldn' t take an albino, piebald, melanistic(black) or white deer if given the opportunity. Doesn' t that fall into the relm of anti hunting of sorts. Just an observation now. I understand it' s illegal in many states and that makes no sense to me what so ever. Simply put, it' s a whitetail deer. Why would we protect it over a normal colored animal or trophy buck? Yes, they are more rare making them to me, a unique trophy. Here in PA they are legal game treated no differently than any other whitetail. They breed, they eat, they do damage, etc...the same as any other deer. To protect one simply isn' t doing herd management any favors. It falls down the mystic of the animal itself....it' s your choice where legal, shoot or don' t shoot. But protect them, why? He' s not calling you an anti anything but simply using your post as an example so as to uderstand why the double standard for Albino or White deer. Nothing else..... Even offering that he should have been more clear in his intent. Please keep any future postings civil and try to understand that we might all be HUNTERS, but we are all very different PEOPLE who happen to be hunters, so we might not always understand another' s reasoning concerning a specific topic. And oh yeah that last post violated posting rules #1,5,8,12,15,16 (Goin for a record?) Debate is good.......arguments or direct personal attacks are not. That will not be tolerated. |
RE: Check Out This Picture Of A True Albino Buck!!
Sorry my friend if anyone was offended! Maybe this is better. I wouldn' t shoot an albino because it is ILLEGAL! I wouldn' t shoot a spike because i wouild like to see it grow into maturity and then become a true trophy. I personaly don' t think a trophy is a spike! Have a nice day everyone!!!!!!:)
|
RE: Check Out This Picture Of A True Albino Buck!!
i think as all of us achieve our individual goals over the years,we keep raising the bar as we become more efficient in what we do.i do not shoot spikes, jakes, use bait or feeders, run deer with dogs or many other methods of hunting.the bottom line is that there are different rules and regulations in each state.if it is lawful,it is legal regardless of how some might feel about his/her personal standards.i pass up many bucks and jakes each year because of my PERSONAL standards.a lot of these animals i pass up are legally taken by hunters that do not have the same standards i have.live and let live, don' t try to change the world to YOUR standards, because yours could be wrong.:)
|
RE: Check Out This Picture Of A True Albino Buck!!
I see both pics...
That is one cool buck. I' m here discussing with the hubby - we both would be awestruck and wouldn' t be able to shoot. THANKS FOR THE PICS! |
RE: Check Out This Picture Of A True Albino Buck!!
I live in one of those 4 archery only counties in Wv as well. Awsome hunting.
For the posters who questioned it being legal, in WV it is Legal to kill an Albino Deer. |
RE: Check Out This Picture Of A True Albino Buck!!
BHF, one quick question. If shooting an albino were legal in your state and a nice albino buck that met your standards came by, would you shoot him or let him pass because he is an albino? If you' d let him pass why? Just curious, thanks.
|
RE: Check Out This Picture Of A True Albino Buck!!
Cool picture, I saw an albino squirrel once while turkey hunting. Let it go with squirrel season not going on and I think it is illegal in Iowa to shoot them. But thought then that it would have made a heck of a mount.
|
RE: Check Out This Picture Of A True Albino Buck!!
For starters what if, what if , what if! Not to avoid the question I don' t really know what I would do. I do know I would probably freak out at the sight of an albino. With that being said I probably would screw up the whole situation. Like I did last year when I missed a nice 8 point at 20 yards and didn' t think about trying a second shot when I watched him for 5 or so minutes after I missed! I guess I truly don' t know what I would do, sorry.
|
RE: Check Out This Picture Of A True Albino Buck!!
How about another pic of the buck after he had it mounted???:D
