All this talk of deer hunting

Made me hungry![:-] This is 1/2 of a backstrap I had left over. I always heard this was a good way of cooking them so I thought I' d give it a try. I cut the strap into inch and a half thick rounds. I then seasoned one side of a strip of bacon with Grill Mates Monterey Steak spice. I wrapped that side of the bacon around the edge of the steaks and secured with some kabob sticks. Didn' t have any toothpicks.;) I cooked them a little long for my tastes, but what can I say, the wife eats her stuff well done. I just took the thickest ones.:D Seasoned both sides while cooking with the grill mates. Ate them bacon and all. And it was FANTASTIC! You got to try that Grill Mates stuff. They make a Kansas City style thats great if you like it a hotter spice. I have the other half all made up and ready to grill.

If you had any teeth and taste buds left, you crotchety old fart, you' d know there was more to life than soup. You might even be able to keep your pants on if you could manage some solid foods. [:o];)
