I never had a problem with them. I usually wait till after the season when they go on sale at Walmart. Two years ago, I was in Texas and I bought a monster buck for $50. My wife had a good laugh at me when it came out on the airport luggage pickup. I' m glad I can keep her amused. You can ussually get the regular deer target for about $45 after the season. I did see this year, they had a partial deer target with vital replacement for about $30 I believe. I may pick one of those up.

All of the shots have been between 20 to 40 yards. I use 5575 goldtips with 100 grain field points.

I' m not sure I' m clear. So, did you take back to where you bought it from? It sounds to me like they were offering you a new one. Mine lasted quite a while and I shot broadheads into it almost exclusively.

Seems rather crappy, must be defective, maybe poor quality control or something.

Yes I tried to take it back but they wouldnt take it with out the box. So that is why I went ahead and got the replacement vital. I haven' t even shot it since I changed it. I have a turkey and coyote 3-d' s that I shoot also. Plus the " black hole" .

Did you try and e-mail blueridge again and let them know that they would not except it. I would try that and see what they say. I have friends that have alot of these targets and get incredible use out of them. I don' t have any because I live in an apartment.
