Do Hawgs Limited Synthetis Scents work?

I was wondering if this particular line of scent products has given you guys any luck. And I' m curious at what point in the season do I start to make mock scrapes? I' d like to give that a try this year.

Goalieman,
If you go to their web site, there are detailed instructions for how to use the products. I am curious myself, as their products don' t smell anything like what I think they should. Then again, I' m not a deer!:D

There are a lot of guys on this site and over on the bowsite that will give this stuff a bad rap because of their past association with the Rompola fiasco. That' s just fine with me, I hope this stuff doesn' t get popular in my neck of the woods, because I ain' t never seen nothing like it. I' ll be ordering it as long as they keep making it, I could care less about the rompola fiasco.

Hey goalie, you must be knew to these message boards, just go here or to the bowsite, www.bowsite.com, or to yahoo even, and type in " rompola buck" in the search. Basically, it' s about a guy that claimed to have arrowed the new world record typical back in 2000 if I remember right. 3 years ago and folks are still arguing about it. Like I said in my above post, I could care less, but there was some connection with the owner of hawgs limited and this rompola guy.

I myself am using it for the first time this year. I have always heard good thing about it, therefore I always recommend it to people. I just put 5 mock scrapes alittle over a week ago, and I will be going back this week to freshen them and to set out my trailcam to see what I got going on!

I remember that whole thing now. People thought he found it dead or something and then associated Hawgs Limited with a " cheater" so they got a bad rap for a while.

Don' t rely on gimmicks like these bogus scents. These methods are like buying into get rich quick schemes. There is no substitute for educating yourself about the deer behavior and deer habitat in your specific area. There is no substitute for scouting wisely yet relentlessly. There is no substitute for proper stand placement with clear shooting lanes set for the well thought out and anticipated approach of previously scouted deer. There is no substitute for well tuned hunting equipment. There is no substitute for proper shot placement and shot follow up. However if you want to waste your money on these magical methods then more power to ya.

You just keep right on preachin' there Mr. Wolfen. Yeah that' s right this stuff don' t work, don' t buy it, especially any Louisiana hunters that hunt near me;)! You can believe one thing, I ain' t telling nobody in my area about it, except maybe some of my closest hunting buddies, and I probably ain' t gonna tell them.

I' ll go ahead and say what Mountain Cur wants to say. This stuff is awesome. I made 4 mock scrapes with it last year the first week of October. Came back the next week and it looked to a HAWG pen. The ground was absolutely tore up where I made my scrapes. There was one that went without being touched, but I believe that happened because of the lack of a licking branch. I used the BF-Gland lure on the licking branches and any overhanging leaves above my scrapes. This stuff made a believer out of me. So I went out and bought alot more for this upcoming season. I made a mock scrape last week and set my camera by it hoping to get some pic of some good bucks in velvet. But it may turn out to be nothing with it being so early. Another thing about this stuff. It comes it 8 oz. bottles which is twice the size and sometimes even 8 times the size of other scent. And is comparable in price. Why not give it a try? It' s the same price and becuase it is synthetic it doesn' t spoil. But these are just my opinions. Other people may think otherwise but this is just my 2 cents.

Best Deer Scent I have ever used. WOW

Well each year I try out a new scent but in years to come I believe I am about to stop that.

I started using Hawg' s Limited - Buck Fever Synthetics.

I tried this deer scent out during last year season.

To explain, each year I try out a new scent out. I started using Hawg' s Limited - Buck Fever Synthetics

Well I put out 10 scrapes using the pre and post in Early September with no real hitting or sign of any until I went back at the start of October bow season. WOW they opened up a scrape on the center of property been over 10 years since they did that. Which is where the picture to the left were taken.

Had an area that had a rub and about the size of my thumb and just 10 feet away I put it on a cedar tree about the size of calf and wow they are just tearing it up.

Then counted 52 rubs on or coming into and on the property. The Saturday before I put out a mock scrape behind a stand and put the camera on the trail going the other way.

Had four deer tracks in the scrape and no pictures on the camera. Took them the opposite that I have seen them travel.

Saturday - October 26th, 2002, I put out the BF Rut at 6:30 a.m. in the scrape they started, had deer droppings and the scrape had been torn up when I got back to it about 9:30 a.m. missed seeing the deer, but either way good sign.

Put some Hawg' s BF Fgland in a Tink' s Canister and a Scent Leaf Canister and moved camera to it on Saturday - October 26th at 2:00 p.m. - and left then got back on October 27th at 7:00 a.m. the next morning wow one picture and deer dropping thrown out and scrape torn up.
SEE PICTURE NO. 109

By the time I had taken the pictures out of the camera had a very nice 8 point buck hit the scrape in less than 5 days. Even ripped the Tink' s canister off the limb and flipped the limb upside down which you can see in picture no. 112 but no longer in no. 113. The canister was about 2 feet away with teeth marks in the side.
SEE PICTURE NO.112

I did see the reaction I had with the Hawg' s Vanish Hunter Spray with a 8 point buck within 10 feet and the wind in his face, could not scent me, while on the ground. Which I have had the same thing happen with the Hunter Specialties Scent-A-Way Spray.

But I do like the fact I can spray the Hawgs Vanish Hunter in my mouth to get rid of mouth odor from breakfast.

But I won' t dis-regard the fact that I use Hunter Specialties Scent-A-Way Laundry Detergent, Soap and Shampoo. I believe it is all part of a system of scent elimination.

Along with B-Scent Free - 1 1/2 ounce Odorless Extended Wear Deodorant. Prevents odor causing bacteria from forming for up to ten days per application.

It is a worth letting the other hunters out in the country know how great all these product are. I will be using these products next year for sure.
