Default My first deer ever!

I started bowhunting late last year, and after 7 or 8 sits this year I finally got my first deer! Was about a 6-yard shot at 8:15 AM, there was another one behind her but I took the larger of the two in front. Got a lung and the liver, she ran about 50 yards and dropped quickly, maybe 10 seconds after the shot (which made me happy).

Way to go! Were you on the ground/blind or a tree stand?

That's AWESOME!!!
I'm especially jealous of the fact that it went down so quickly.....you see, I shot my first with a bow a week ago last Sunday and it ran off. After a hundred yds or so it went into a swamp and disappeared. My bro, a neighbor and I all put on waders and searched for 3 hours until it started pouring rain and we lost the blood trail.....never found him, and I still feel terrible. I DID get a buck on the firearm opener on Saturday (he only made it about 10 ft), but......well, I'll just have to do better next time.

Congrats!!! bowhunting is harder than it looks.
