Default First Bow Buck!

Finally, after returning to the compound bow from shooting a crossbow. I went 3 years with not harvesting a buck. The other choice I made at that time I was no longer gonna shoot immature bucks. After letting buck after buck walk for three years I finally had a mature buck enter the 30 yard kill zone. He is only a 6 point but with good mass and tine length he is a mature 3.5 yr old. with a 21" spread and dressed out at 170lbs. I got a slight 1/4 away shot and watched the buck go down in sight. Although my buddy and I have a unwritten rule of not shooting anything less than an eight point, he let me slide on this one!

Now it is time to get my 12 yr old son a buck it is his first season as a legal hunter and chomping at the bit to get one!

O, the deer was taken in Chester Co. Pa.

Great buck. I know passing up smaller ones can get old after a while, but it will pay off in the end. Well done. Rev

Great looking buck. We practice QDM on our property and sometimes you have to make exceptions to the rule and he looks like one of those exceptions.
