Favorite Broadhead?
 

Just bored and wondering what everyones favorite head was. I started out with muzzy' s went to Magnus and now am shooting Bear Razorhead' s for the first time this year. Leaving for a antelope hunt on the 22nd hope to tell you more about them after that.
There' s nothing like that top of the food chain feeling!

I HAVE HUNTED WITH THUNDERHEAD 100S &125S, MUZZY 3BLADE 100GR, ROCKY MOUNTAIN 3BLADE 85GR, SATELLITE TITAN 100GR, AND BEAR RAZORHEAD 120GR. ALL FINE BROADHEADS;)....2 SEASONS AGO I TRIED GAMETRACKER EXP 100 MECHANICAL HEAD. THIS IS THE MOST ACCURATE HEAD I HAVE EVER SHOT, BY FAR....IT HITS WITH A FIELD POINT AT LEAST TO 60 YARDS(THATS AS FAR BACK AS I SHOT THEM). I WAS SKEPTICAL ABOUT MECHANICAL HEADS AT FIRST BUT THEY HAVE PERFORMED AS WELL OR BETTER THAN ANY HEAD I' VE TRIED. IT MAKES AN AWESOME WOUND[X(]. THE LOCAL PRO SHOP CAN HARDLY KEEP THEM IN STOCK.[:-]

Just the other day i purchased the " new" NAP razorbaks, kinda pricey. I am still playing with them but i will probally stick to ole' reliable thunderhead 100' s.They are affordable and fly very good.

1) mar-den vortex125" s. Killed more deer with that head than I can count.
2) Nugentblades by magnus. I use them with my carbon arrows for the utmost in penitration.

1) Magnus Snuffer 125gr. Blood trails that are almost sickening to look at.
2) Modoc 2 blade 105gr. Best flying broadhead I' ve seen yet.

Muzzy 3 blade 100 grain heads, but today i just bought some new magnus stinger 2 blades, and i really like them. Ill tell you more about them as i get to play with them more.

Currently I' m shooting 100 gr. Thunderheads....those Vortex heads are always ready to go incase I have a change of heart!;)

Wasp Jack-Hammer 100 grain. These things fly tru and do a devistating job.

I do not intend to change, but it looks like a lot of you are useing the G5 Montec. I am assuming you are happy with them, I will keep them on my back up list if I need a cut on impact.

Muzzy 145 grain four blade
Interloc 135 or 145 five blade
Magnus 150 grain
GKF Deadhead 120 grain six blade (maybe)

My favorite all time,would have to be the 125 gr. Muzzy. You just can' t beat a head with blade retention like that. Plus, not only can you buy replacement blades, you can buy new tips. These heads have held up to repeated shots into the sand and dirt butts we use in leagues better than any head out there. They are tough.

I' m starting to fall for these Montecs by G5. I' d use them exclusivly if they had the warranty of a Magnus. At 34 bucks for 3, I' ll only use them for a couple practice shots for confirmation, touch up the edge, and hunt with them. They are a bitch to sharpen no matter what people say.

Right now I' m shooting Rockie Mountain Premiers in 75 gr. for leagues. Its one of 2 heads of this type that come in 75. gr and a 1 1/8" cut. Every little bit helps when keeping score. I' d switch in a heartbeat to a 75 Muzz, but don' t want to drop to a 1" cut.

Nothing beats a Muzzy. They are tough and very accurate from a well tuned bow.

I just bought the 100 grain Rocky Mountain Advantage' s the other day off the internet and I wondered if anyone have them or heard what kind of luck they' ve had with them.

I' ve used Bear Razorheads or Magnus for a long time now. Think I' ll change up a mite this year and go with 125 gn Suffers.

Holy Cow! Sure hope that wasn' t a Freudian slip or a bad omen. SNUFFERS is what I meant to say.

In 45 years of Bowhunting I have probably shot " almost' every head for one reason or another plus I owned & operated 2 pro shops (same time-2 towns)for over 15 years & have seen it all.
I still experiment with heads BUT since they were 1st introduced by Robert Barrie we (me-son & brother) shoot Rocky Mountains. I shoot the 3 Blade Rocky Mtn. Razor 125gr. & my son & brother shoot the 100gr 3 blade. We have taken Big Black bears, Elk, Caribou, many species of Deer & in our book the toughest animal of anything in our country-WILD HOGS.
Personally, I feel many of the fixed Blade B.H. of today are just some type copy of the Rocky. Good luck in whatever you shoot

This year for deer, I will be using an Innerloc 5 blade 135 grain head. Next year, I will be hunting both elk and deer and may switch back to my Stos 145 grain two blade cut on contact head. We' ll see.

Wasp Jackhammer 100 - 3 blade mech. If you have a high KE set-up, these 1 3/4" cut diameter heads leave HUGE blood trails!

I use Wasp SST 75 gr. with carbon arrows

i find thet the light gr. makes my arrows fly and faster and more smooth
i always had full pass thou and no deer went more then 40 yards
:)
