I have been swayed by the carbon crowd for now. Gotta admit they are cheaper in the long run due to durability. Shooting Gametracker carbons 4 now, but aluminum isn' t far from my mind.

aluminum xx78 superslams and xx75 advatage timber , mainly for cost reasons they fly good outta my bow ,and the funds aren' t there to start messing with carbon ,i will probably get some, i was thinking of checking out some evolutions.

RE: AL or CARBON? what do you shoot and why?

PROBLEM IS I DON" T WANT TO SHOOT ALuminum and damn sure dont want to shoot feathers! but if they keep shooting exactly where I aim every time I will not be able to argue with the performance!!
Duh ;)

Like I said on the other thread, I want to be able to shoot carbons but the stuff I have to go through... Straightness checks, spine checks, carefully orienting the stiff side on all the arrows identically, adding weight to get the things as heavy as I want them... It' s rapidly getting to the point where it' s more work than it' s worth. In this case, what I want is way different than what works. And what works has worked for me for years without any of the extraneous BS I' ve been fighting with carbon.

I shoot carbons mostly. I still have some XX75 camo hunters that I sometimes shoot with. Oh, and I shoot Carbon Express Terminators 4560. Besides the fact that alum. bend and carbons are either straight or broke, I sighted my three pins in with aluminums. 20, 30, and 40 yards. Switching to carbons gave me 25, 35, and 45 yards without changing anything except the arrows.:D

Works for me!

I used to shoot the XX78 Easton aluminum Super Slams w/ my PSE, but now w/ my Hoyt, I shoot the 400 gr. carbon Beman ICS hunters w/ NAP Spitfire 100 gr. mechanical broadheads.

For everyone who believes in the myth that carbons are either straight or broke, there is some interesting reading in the thread ' Tuning Trilogy' on the Technical forum.

I doubt very much if any more than a few people here shoot good enough to concern themselves with the straightness tolerances of a good carbon arrow!!!
