i bought a bow last year and got it all sighted in ( so i thought ) and i shoot it often. probably about 5 times a week. well whenever i shot i would have to mess with my sights because i was always shooting off target. i think i have found the problem. i have never replaced my string and i think that it stretched. i think that it stretched because there are tuning marks on my cam and the string is supposed to be between those marks. well it isnt. could string stretch be the problem??? also my groups are not as tight. would string stretch effect accuracy???? thanks for all the help.

String stretch can cause your problems. The string, by stretching, is causing a slight increase in draw weight by slightly increasing your draw length, which can effect accuracy by weakening the spine of your arrows if you are borderline with them. Also, the cam rollover being different now, can give you a different let-off, feel, etc. String stretch usually only occurs within the first 100 shots of a new string. After that, they settle down. You can (if you have a bow press) twist the string until the marks on your cams are where they originally were with the string. If you' re bow is old, and your string is made of the old fast flight, this may be a continuing problem. They seemed to stretch forever. One of the more modern string materials like 450 plus will stretch just a tad, then settle in.
Hope this helps.

Probably is string stretch. I' d take it to your local proshop and have them check it out. You don' t want it changing during the season and or if its a set-up/tuning problem you want to get a handle on right away!
Good Luck!

If I am shooting off, I' ll leave it and come back the next day. if I am still shooting off then I' ll move my sights. many a times have I shot off and the next day I would be spot on.
I don' t know much about string stretch so taking it to your dealer would be your best bet probably.
Good luck

You should go to a pro shop and have them check it out . String stretch will cause problems , especialy with a one cam bow . If you' ve got some cash burning a hole in your pocket , buy a winners choice string and cabel and once setup you' ll not have a stretch problem for some time to come .

Not sure of your experience level, but if you just started last year it is possible that you are slightly adjusting your anchor point each time you go out to shoot. I have seen that cause the problems you are describing.

Another thing it could be is your sights are not tightend enough, you may want to try a little lock-tite if you are finding the housing of your sights are loose.

i think tazman is right , try tightening them up a little , or is it at all possible you have a little target panic? i had this same problem a few years back, and the end result was target panic!! the cure is a new release , back tension works best , hopefully thats not the problem try some loctite first !! good luck!
