I have $500-$575 to play with in buying a bow and any accessories I'll need(EXCLUDING a tree stand). WHEN is the best time to buy the equipment I'll need? WHEN will sales happen? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks--the Rookie

carl,
Bow sales tend to generally occur between the middle of November and the last week of January, in my area. This is because most of the new bow lines for the following year start to debut and most pro shops need to get rid of any of the previous year's inventory.

Yup, the AMO show just happened. All the dealers put in orders for the new bows. If there are any model changes you can sometimes pick up a good deal on last years model. Besides that, they have a little lull going on right now until the outdoor shooting starts and they want the business. Absolutely nothing wrong with last years models. They still have a warranty.

Just talked to a guy who owns a bow shop tonight. He said his factory rep had bunch of last years bows that he could get a good deal on. He also had a bunch of left hand bows as well.
Good luck shopping. It will drive you nuts.
Try pricing Champion bows.
