Default need help

A couple of weeks ago I went from shooting 31/2" groups at 30yrds to scattering arrows all over the place. I have had my bow checked and it shoots perfect holes in the paper. I did buy a new scott release, could this cause that much of a difference. I love the feel of the new release. Could it just be in my head?

When you say, in your head....I assume you mean your mechanics....probably. If nothing with the bow changed, and your shooting bullets with the new release, then your probably just experiencing target panic getting used to the new release. Learn to shoot with back tension and this will solve your triggering issues. All releases regardless of index finger, pinky, thumb or else should be triggered with back tension.

What release where you using before??

Sinch the goose up tight to your wrist. If this release is longer than your last it could be stretching you out and effecting your form

i had the same problem last week. i was just foolin around and changing some stuff out and tinkerin (you know stuff i should of left alone) anyway i wasn' t really changing anything on the bow itself just stabilizer, form, release, and different mechanics. when i went back to shooting i was scattering them all over the target. at 30 yards i was shooting low left in about 4inch groups. [:@] i slowed down went over my release and found that i had gotten away from the tension release and fallen into old habits of punching the trigger. this was making me push my bow down and away during the release anyway back to the tension release and shooting knocks off at 30.

your release can make all the difference
