Default Mathews Bow Speed???

I am shooting an LX. Yes I finally got one. I am using 386 grain arrows at about 269 fps. That figures my KE to be about 62 ft/lbs. I was wondering if what anyones opinion on my KE was and What some other LX shooters were achieving.

Thanks

What poundage and draw length??

What do you have on the string??

All these things can drastically change speeds from one bow to the next

Mathews LX, 28" Goldtip XT 55/75' s, 67 pounds, 100 grain tips, 30" draw, drop zone, peep sight, string loop, kisser button, beaver balls on string, string leeches on buss cables, limb savers and bow mufflers. I am shooting 296 fps and you can barely hear it. Everywhere I shoot, I have at least three different archers tell me they can' t believe how quiet my bow is........I have to ask them to repeat themselves, because I' ve been standing next to them when their bows went off and sounded like a 22' s. LOL. Don' t know and don' t care what the KE is because I killed two pigs, four whitetails (2 bucks; 187 pounds and 200 pounds dressed & 2 does), and a fallow deer last year and my arrow blew thru each one of them.

CORRECTION!!!! Last years kills were with my Mathews Legacy! Altough, the LX is set-up identically and I am confident that KE is NOT a problem. Also, I am not sure what my arrows weigh.

I am shooting a Mathews LX with 27 in draw, Tru peep and regular rubber whisker silencers and a tied in nocking point on the string. I am using 26.5 in Goldtip 5575' s with 100 grain points. It is supposed to be on about 68 pounds.

Cotton do you feel you need the cat wiskers on the string? The one I shot didn' t need them, the string silencers did their job just fine.

Do you think that the string whiskers slow me down very much? I was told that they wouldn' t effect it much and I do like a quiet bow.
