no like everyone said they can be up 8-10 points but my dad always told me once a four pointer always a four pointer??? don' t know if its true all the time but i do know its true part of the time... its casued by a bad gene

just like everyone else said they definatly can be bigger than spikes but also they can be small all their lives too because of the nutrition available to them and the genes they received

All bucks start out initially as button bucks but their first hardened antlers can be
anything from spike to 8 pt depending on nutrition and genetics. In my area, most of the 1 1/2 yr olds are spikes to 6 pt.
