When do y'all think that the Virginia rut will start to get going? I have seen very small signs of rubs and scrapes lately. Gun season starts this upcoming Saturday and I'm trying to get a buck down before they get all skid-dish. Lucky for me where I hunt there is no guns, just bows. But any ideas?

got lots of rubs in my area and took a buck this past weekend with the smokepole. He was around other doe but not really interested and even walked across a scent line I dragged and stood 5 yards from where I hung it in a tree and not a care in the world to him.

On the other hand a buddy took a doe and had a buck come in 10 minutes later and was trying to get her up, grunting and stomping at her..

so might depend where your at..
