Default Upset but Happy

In the beginning of the year I have been getting some really nice pictures of a big nine point around the parents house. Its a main frame 8 with a big kicker on the left G-2. Its one of the tallest bucks I have seen with about a 16 inch spread. Well since its been hanging around the house and I have seen it about a dozen times scouting I decided to let it go one more year and prayed to god it would survive the season. Well last night I decided to do some scouting from the truck watching a big cut corn field. And the big 9 point crossed 15 yards in front of my truck going after some doe's. Well the sad part was that he broke his whole right side off at the browtine. Im happy because now I know he might be less tempting for someone to stick an arrow in him or let a bullet fly. This happen to anyone with a buck on their hit list? I would be really upset if we were going after him.
