I had been wearing a pair of Rocky leather boots for a few years, and loved them. Last year, I had four deer hit the brakes right when they hit my tracks. I finally got a pair of rubbers. Have' nt used them yet, but I can' t wait. I stayed with Rocky, and got the 18" buckstalkers. Actually got a GREAT deal on them from ebay. I got em for 32 bucks (pun). They are insulated with 1000 grams of thinsulate, and are Realtree Advantage Timber. I can' t wait to use them.

I will probably be going against the grain here but what else is new. [

I have a pair of burleys that I have had for years. They shine in wet conditions as long as the temperatures don' t fall to low.
Having said that, my feelings are, rubber boots are over rated. They are not a cure all for scent control by any means. I haven' t seen what I would call a noticeable difference in a deer' s reaction to my rubber boots versus my insulated leather hunting boots. I have been busted in both and also disregarded while using both.
I can tell you this. Where I hunt temperatures can be extreme and the last thing I want to have on in the cold, is a pair of rubber boots that don' t allow my feet to breath. I like to feel the ground under my feet when I walk out.

I have a pair of Rocky buckstalkers foam insulation and I have no major complaints. The only draw back is they are by no means easy to get off, even using a boot puller. The do very well for warmth down here in the panhandle of Florida. They did start to dry rot and leak after the first year but Rocky replaced them no questions asked. Most of the guys I hunt with use LaCrosse.

I' ve got a pair of 4 year old, bowhunt use only, green lacross rubber boots. The only thing I hate about them is the ankle fir is TIGHT and hard to get off.
Last year I bought a pair of Redhead insulated rubber boots ofr colder weather hunts (40 degrees is cold for me!!).
I didn' t buy the lacross second time around because the pairs on the shelf were made in china, if my only choices are china, or china, then I' m gonna buy the pair that cost the least. Had the lacrosses been " Made In USA" like my older pair, then I would have bought them.

I have always wore rubber boats and Lacrosse in my opinion are the best. My last pair of Burly Air Grip were 11 years old when I got rid of them. I never had any experiences with deer picking up my scent trail either. I was surprised recently when an article I read in a hunting magizine suggested that foot odor can leak out of rubber boots since it is a gas.
