I see the same thing during the rutting moon. Locked down at night. From Halloween and two weeks beyond has always seemed to be the best for me. I'd prefer to be out in the woods during the seeking and chasing phase much more than the breeding phase anyway. If the weather is cool the action is hot the first two weeks of Nov. in the midwest.

I see most action the last week of October and the first two weeks in October here in Ohio. It's always been the best time frame as far as I can remember.

It happened back in the late 90's like that and I shot a big 8pt smashing down a ridge after a fork chasing a doe, and my uncle shot a monster 10pt 6oo yds away a minute after me.

Personally, I just play it by the activity I see. Not really into the moon and such. I've shot bucks here in PA running does November 27th and December 2nd. At that time it was the rifle opener
