I know most of us try to be law abiding citizens and obey all the hunting rules, but lets face it, sometimes we breakem. Wether by accident or on purpose , how many of you have committed a wildlife violation in your years of BOW OR GUN hunting and what was it. Minor or major, everyone makes mistakes in life.
1. When I was 14 I shot a buck with 3/4 inch antlers. They werent supposed to be less than one inch.
2. Used screw in tree steps on a WMA where they were prohibited.
3. Went hunting with my dad up in Alabama one year and shot two bucks in one day. My dad misread the rules and had told me that was the daily limit. Come to find out it was one buck per day.[
]
4. Got lost on a WMA that I was hunting for the first time and exited at the wrong
place. Got a ticket for exiting the WMA at the wrong place but got it thrown out in court.
Wait a minute. Someones nocking on the door...............GAME WARDENS![

LOL...I' m sure they will...
I can only say that I ain' t perfect. My tendencies are to " not " bend the rules rather that bend them. I' ve done a few things I' m not real proud of, but that was a long time ago. Since I' ve " matured" I guess...I' d much rather do the right thing...in all areas of life. I know some folks however that STILL make a habit of making their own rules...

Oh come on folks. Nobody would hesitate to admit to speeding a time or two in their life or getting a ticket for running a stop sign. Lets open up. You can still be an ethical hunter and make a couple of mistakes. Nobody is going to pass judgement on you. I consider myself a very ethical hunter although I did stray abit
in the past. Anyhow, ya' ll have a good weekend. Im headed for the beach.

As for me, I am not perfect however I don' t feel like the is the proper outlet for these types of conversations, as they could provide ammo for anti-hunters.

i can honestly say i have not done anything wrong or unethical when it comes to hunting.......i have screwed up alot in my life and i refuse to cross that line......it' s kinda like your virginty, once you' ve lost it, you can never go back, if i cross that line when i am hunting , then it' ll never be the same.....hunting means too much to me, i know the rules and regs of what and where i am hunting, if i dont, i will before the hunt.....i' m far from perfect, but Lord knows i try to be the best hunter i can be and i try to set an example of what hunting is all about .....
i might of been tempted to do lil things like nailing into the trees or salting an area, but since i work at a WMA/reserve, i know why we have the rules we have and i respect them ... and at the end of each hunt , i can walk out of the woods with a smile , knowing i did the right things while i was out there......

I had a guy chase a pretty darn nice buck across a bean field with his pickup into the woods where I was sitting one time[:@] The deer walked past at about 20 yards and his tongue was hanging out and was panting[:' (] I thought about shooting him but I thought that I' d would have never seen the deer if it wasn' t for the idiot in the truck and just let him go. I figured if the deer won the race, he needed to enjoy his victory for the day

]we were hunting public land one afternoon and i was sitting over a clover field when two does came out on the other side of the field. We don' t hunt the public land much so i didn' t know that you can only shoot a doe on certain days. this was not one of them. i shot and saw her kick up and stumble into the trees. when i got over there all there was were i shot her was a little tufft of pure white hairs. i had missed her low.
thank goodness -- but would' ve been
" sir, i am sorry it was an honest mistake. please don' t take my gun."

Screw the anti hunters this is where you discuss all aspects of bow hunting the good and the ugly.Yes it does have a ugly side and this how we spread our thoughts about hunting and ethics.Freedom of speach!
Hunting ethically is a state of mind, soul and pride.
