So in 2008 I broke my old Darton bow and decided to get a new one. So I rushed off and got a Darton AS300. This is my third season with this bow and I finally noticed (should have before but I didn't) that my drop away rest is coming in contact with my blazer vanes. I have to shoot this bow with the off color vane offset to the right in order to obtain clearance with the cables. When I do this, one vane is hitting the rest after it falls. Now the simple solution is to change back to traditional vanes. They are not as tall and would easily clear my rest. However, I am not going to do this. I have my set up rigged so I am getting optimal performance (even though the vane is hitting the rest slightly it does not interfere with the flight). I refuse to compromise on this. It is rediculous that I can not shoot the equipment I want with the bow that I want. I went to the archery pro the other day to try and see if this can be corrected, guess what, it can't. If I put on a different cable bar (the current one is straight) I will throw the timing off on the cams and it also may cause the string to come off the cams. Now I have been a loyal Darton shooter for 10 years and I really don't want to change. However, unless the company does something I don't have a choice. Thanks for reading...I am just very upset. If anyone has any suggestions plz feel free to tell me.

When I got the bow I'm using now, it came with a drop away rest. Now I have never had one before. I noticed something was leaving a mark on the rest. It was the fletching. So I came on here. They asked me if I was shooting the odd color vain up? Um, no. So when I did that, all was good. If your fletching is hitting your rest, its affecting the flight, you may not notice it because all your arrows are flying the same way. It may not be much, but it does.

What kind of rest is it? You should be able to change the rest timing ... in accordance with the instruction manual.

And that's one of the reasons I shoot a whisker biskit!

Maybe an after market cable slide can help? I had to shoot odd vane out (9:00) to clear the cables on my old bow. I did not have any rest contact. I was shooting a DZ. I can shoot with vanes in any position with my QAD without contact. Maybe you can adjust your rest or position your nocks differently to take care of the problem?

That sucks to find that out this close to hunting season!!

The timing on my rest is fine. It falls out of the way before the arrow clears. And I would try an after market cable slide, but I can't move the cables out any more because it would not stay on the cams. See my problem. And I use to shoot with the odd vane up, but I cant because the vanes would hit the cables. Im not a happy person.
