I've often considered using my climbing harness from rock climbing. You could try one of those.

And when they did, they broke bones, went into coma's, ended up in wheels chairs and died. Those that used straps only provided the stat's we now have on just how deadly and ineffective they are. Use whatever you want or nothing at all. But those who don't use a harness and survive a fall better have someone who loves them enough to handle the burdan they become. |

This is not to be confused with a safety harness, but it's simply something I put together for when I install my hang-on stand. It has a prusic for easy adjustment and 2 hooks. One for your bow, and the other for the stand. This belt allows for hands free stand set up.
