Well the truth of the matter is i put it as high as i think neccissary depending on theterrain i am hunting . . . On average about 18+ feet high.

But in placing my Tree stand i always Keep in mind . What Am I HUNTING ? Can It KILL ME ? so the real answer to this question for me anyways is . High enough for the bears not to EAT ME ! ! ! I dont wanna be plucked out of a tree stand like a tasty Fruit treat for a bear if you know what i mean! ! !

In the past few years, I try to go over 22ft. I have to say its made a big difference in deer scenting me.

I used to not go over 15ft, and seem to get scented quite a bit.

I try to be no less than 20 but prefer to be at 25. At that hieght i am seldom spotted

i have a climber and i hunt at 18 feet, and the reason for this my bow rope is 19 feet and i stop right before my bow is going to come off the ground.

18 to 20 feet

Anywhere from 20 to 33. It all depends on the conditions and the location.

Usually around 20ish. I have been up around 40+ gun hunting one time. It was the last time. Little windy that night.

bowhuntn87 09-22-2010 10:16 AM

Until the leaves drop, whatever the canopy dictates, after that 20-25 ft.

im terrified of heights so my stands are at 13ft and 16ft then the other one im putting up is going to be 16ft also. should i be worried about getting busted?
