Well, you're comparing one company's LOWEST level bow to another company's second HIGHEST level bow, why did you choose these 2??? 
If you want a GREAT bow at a GREAT price, check the at.com classifieds. Go out and shoot everything you can in a couple shops, get an idea of what you like, and then make a more informed decision. Also, make note that the Bear Assault is going to have a very SHARP draw cycle, not for a beginning archer by any means.
