Coug,

HOW DARE YOU SPEAK IN SUCH A TONE ABOUT UNDERSIZED EQUIPMENT!!!!

THERE,...You know that's what you were after buddy!! LOL

I'm gonna speculate here,....but I've noticed allot of question's about bow's from you lately. Is there a reason? You've been saving some money haven't you!

I'm headed back in the direction of a more "forgiving" bow on my next purchase. I have an Ultra-Max and just don't seem to beable to get where I should be with it. Even though its 36" long the 6 1/4" Brace makes it a tricky bow to shoot IMO. Not that I shoot it bad,....just that I think I should be shooting better!!

I believe most of us that try the slightly unforgiving bows, eventually come back around and realize we really want the most accurate set-up possible. For those of you who shoot best with a shorter bow, more power to you. I wish I did. Confidence in your equiptment makes ALL the difference in the world.

Coug, I'm with ya on this one. I shoot a Darton Maverick at 38" and love it. I tried to shoot a Hoyt Havoc but I wasn't as good with it. But now I feel that I could shoot with any bow as my form is much better now than when I was shopping for a new bow. In the hands of a good archer I don't really think there would be much if any difference in the two. But I don't want to go below 36" for any of my bows.

I've found that most guys that are 28" draw and under can shoot the shorter bows without as much problem as those of us that are 29" or longer draw. Stands to reason if you think about it.

I did look hard at a PSE Stingray last yr., it was intriguing.

No Twang, I am not shopping for a bow. Happy with my Martin Cougar Magnum. I guess I should have started a poll on bow lengths. I agree that what works for one doesn't work for another person. Anyway I didn't get ripped too bad, I just wanted to hear people's experiences shooting shorter bows.

I was reading through the posts and noticed that Razorhunter was following the same thought process as I on this one...

<BLOCKQUOTE id=quotequote:
I believe most of us that try the slightly unforgiving bows, eventually come back around and realize we really want the most accurate set-up possible

....except I would have finished it with...."If your form is up to it then maybe a shorter brace height bow will work for you. But for me, anything less than 7 inches won't be sitting in my basement"

YOU WONT GET RIPPED FROM ME EITHER,ALTHOUGH I DO SHOOT A Q2 AT 34".I DONT THINK THEYRE ANY MORE ACCURATE,I DO THINK YOU HAVE TO FOCUS MORE ON FORM.WHICH TO ME IS A WASTE OF TIME.I SHOOT PRETTY GOOD AND I DONT SHOOT 3D SO PERFECT FORM ISNT MY FIRST PRIORITY.SO IF ANYBODY GETS RIPPED ITLL PROBABLY BE ME FOR BASHING "PERFECT FORM"

I won't rip you about perfect form bashing. In some 40 years of chasing critters with a bow, I can count on my fingers the number of times I've been able to take a hunting shot with perfect target shooting form. That's why I refuse to hunt with an unforgiving bow. Having said that, I'll add that if I can't hunt with a bow, I will not own that bow.
