Buck Alley,In the future, make sure you warn people before telling that story. Don' t you realize how hard it is to get coffee stains off the computer monitor? Reminds me of my Dad, he was sure he had shut off the electric fence so when it bit him, he tried it again.[

i did it with a cheap release 25 years ago hit my face with it hand held release so i tried it again got a bloody lip threw it as far as i could shot fingers for 10 years after that before i got brave and bought another release. i have not had a problem since. smacking yourself in the face has made me always to draw my bow to the side of my precious face i would not dare set one any lighter than it comes. i got some type of fear from this learning experiance.lol

The archery shop in my area always suggests to its customers to keep your release hand in front of your chest when drawing your bow. Its easy to do and probably a good habit. I' ve done the same thing and hit myself in the face and I' ve seen it happen to others.
Good Luck!
